Solar Maximum and Past Music Trends
One day while reading about the current solar maximum, one of those boy band songs played on the radio. It got me thinking about
how music during the past 2 years has reverted back to 1989 - 1992. Music from 1999 to 2001 sounds eerily similar to that of the past.
Most of the popular groups consist of boy bands and female pop/dance singers. Example New Kids On the Block, just to name one,
was popular back around 1989 to 1990.
Now we have N'SYC and Backstreet Boys. Paula Abdual and Janet Jackson were big around that same time, and now we have
Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Is it just fate or can there be a cause? Well, take a look at the graphic below. This graphic is part of a larger
chart showing the past to present solar maximums.
Note that there is a solar maximum currently in progress and has been for the past year or two. Looking back there was a maximum
around 1990. This is the time of the past boy/female/dance band craze. Now take a look around 1979 to 1982. Was there not something occurring
around that time as well? Say, DISCO! I have not researched it farther back, but you get the point. Is it just a coincidence?
Anyway, the good thing about it is that something different comes about a year or two after the maximum decreases. So hopefully the pattern will
continue and some good music will start being produced as we move out of the solar maximum. Then again, this is just all a bunch of crap.
